Not a bad age to die, considering what he did for a living for a few years. The worst is the brain damage from being hit and hitting. The helmet doesn’t protect against the hardness and repetitiveness of all those hits.
RIP. A travesty he’s not in the HoF.
RIP.
Rest in Peace, L.C. Greenwood, you’ll be missed. Too bad you’re gone, the Steelers can use you (and Mean Joe) right now. Maybe now, he’ll get into the Football Hall of Fame, shame he got screwed on that one. Mom and I met him around 30 years ago in Pittsburgh at the Jenkin’s Arcade.
Rest in Peace.
I agree.
RIP, Mr. Greenwood.
Hard to believe that Mean Joe now is the only one left from the Steel Curtain.
RIP Mr. Greenwood, you were a great player.
I remember growing up in Ohio and being a big fan of the Steelers. Mean Joe Greene was probably my favorite but L.C. and Jack Lambert were close runner-ups.
I know. B-( Mean Joe is it now. I liked his 1979 Coke commercial.
That team was inspirational and the stuff that legends are made of. Every man on that team had a story. G-dspeed, L.C.
RIP.
Was there a study that showed that almost half of the super bowl winning teams had pasted?

Bad day for the Steelers — man, I haven’t seen them collapse that badly in a long time.
Bein that he use to give Coach Phillips so much misery, surprised he wound up so close to Houston.
He went to college at North Texas State, just up the road in Denton.
