“I guess thats just for football.”
I guess. Seems really foolish though.
“Alternate gold jerseys of VICTORY.”
Great game.
Rays won’t see the foliage, they just saw the FALL!
RE: Bad conduct in Little League. Different sport, but this is a quote last week from an interview with Bobby Orr:
Q. You talk in the book about one hockey parent murdering another in Massachusetts, and didnt you recently rush on the ice in Toronto to break up a brawl in a youth game?
A. “I didnt go on the ice, but I was sitting with my partner and said, Something is going to happen here. The parents and coaches were going at it. Thats outrageous. Think about it. These are our childrens games. Were the adults. Were the ones that are supposed to be setting the good example, and theyre acting like damn fools. Some coaches act as if the mortgage were at stake if their Pee Wee team doesnt win a game, which is outrageous. I guarantee, if your kids got it, hell get a chance. And Ill guarantee another thing. If youre abusing that kid mentally, screaming and yelling at him if he makes a mistake, the kid is going to walk away. Hes going to leave the game. I dont ever remember a minor hockey coach screaming and yelling and being unreasonable with me, ever. My father, never. People say to me, What was the reason for the success I had? I had a love and passion for the game that was never taken out of me. I couldnt wait to get on the ice. I couldnt wait to get a stick in my hand, whether it was shooting in the garage or playing in the parking lot or playing at the school rink or playing on the river or the bay. I went very young [age 14] to play junior hockey. The coaches were owned by the Bruins and they continued to let me play my way. I went to the Bruins and they continued to let me play my way, the way I always played, because they thought that was most effective. That was huge for me.”
Tough day for Hotlanta sports. Ex-White sock Juan Uribe wins it in the 8th while Ex-White sock Freddie Garcia sits and watches, sadly and helplessly. Also a spectator, the closer Kimbrel .
Rays avoid the sweep, a double switch in an AL game, you know you loved it, Mauro. Kogi Uhura takes the loss. Tomorrow, Peavy.
A’s win in big D, the Tigers turn to Fister to avoid elimination.
Cards force game 5, the Pirates will have to get through Wainwright, arrrrgh.
Kimbrel the spectator .... the power closer: often useful in the regular season. Often useless in the postseason.
Elimination games are different, aren’t they? Kimbrel.
I am still baffled by the Maddon give up the DL move .. he was saving Fuld to pinch-run?
Watching Farrell manage is almost as bad as watching the Braves in postseason. Rookie relief pitchers are having a tough week. it must be Calvin Schiraldi syndrome.
Hey man, I was/am a Mets fan. Doesn’t bother me.
I knew that series the Tigers had in Miami at the end of the regular season would be a harbinger of things to come.
Yeah I remember you telling me that. You aren’t beholden to geography like most of us, I applaud you.
I doubt I could bring myself to root against say the Bears, if their owner was a probama douchebag like Bob Kraft.
LAD pulled it out.
The Tampa Gay win was bullsh*t. The foul ball that was caught should have been an out, then it was game and series over. BOS should protest the game. Get a MLB-quality stadium, TAM.
I’m tired of Joe Maddon; he should go huff glue and be found passed out in a Shoney’s parking lot, getting butt blasted by a train of homeless meth heads. I’d rather listen to Mauro’s diatribes on “HFA” for hours on end then look at Maddon for another second.
I expect Peavy to pitch like a pit bull on crack tonight. BOS can’t win by enough for me. Even if they lose in the next round, as long as they beat TAM, I’ll be content.
The other series, played in legitimate MLB-quality ballparks, are good stuff.
“Yeah I remember you telling me that. You arent beholden to geography like most of us, I applaud you.”
Thank you.
Bob Kraft: Not my favorite, but could be worse. A lot worse.
