Haidar previously charged with making threatening calls to gun company

ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, N.C. —A man was jailed under a $1 million bond after deputies allege he threatened to kill a Triad judge who held him in contempt Wednesday.

Jihad Abou Haidar, 39, of Monroe, had appeared in Rockingham County District Court on charges of making threatening and harassing phone calls to Remington Arms in Mayodan August 23.

Haidar bought a gun from Remington Arms in Mayodan and claimed there was a problem with it, said Deputy Kevin Suthard. When the manufacturer examined the gun and found no problems, Haidar then made the threatening calls, Suthard said.

During Wednesday's hearing, Haidar argued with Judge Fred Wilkins, who found Haidar in contempt of court, deputies said. Haidar was sentenced to 48 hours in the Rockingham County Jail.

At the jail, Haidar told jail personnel he was going to kill Wilkins, deputies said.

Haidar was then charged with threatening an executive court officer and held under a $1 million secured bond. Haidar was scheduled to be in court on the additional charge Oct. 23.

Kind of scary how many Jihad Abou Haidars exist, once you google the name...

Threaten a gun manufacturer, then threaten a judge - now off to jail posthaste, little jihadi friend!

Gee thanks, Mom & Dad!

Any lectures from Zero regarding another muzzie's public contempt for the justice system? Didn't think so.

I certainly wouldn’t side with any raghead, Ooops, strike that, I mean towelhead, Ooops strike that, Uhhh, well you know, but I worked weekends in a small gun store in eastern NC and did nothing but fix (clean) Remingtons, rifles and shotguns. They were always “jamming-up” at the most inopportune time and the shop owner said Remingtons were his bread & butter due to their finicky mechanism that didn’t tolerate much of anything well, so perhaps this, whatever perp was just too lazy to clean his firearm. That’ll cost him some cell time rather than a gunsmith’s $25.00 and hour these days. Rot in jail you rag... well, you know.

Made in America?

This is what happens when a company doesn’t make good enough products.

“Made in America? This is what happens when a company doesn’t make good enough products.”......

Purchase “anything” from off shore and without proper maintenance, it will fail. Remington has been making firearms in this country for a VERY LONG TIME. While not the “cadillac” of firearms, Remingtons are a good, reliable and well functioning mechanisms that like anything else, without proper care will fail. (I learned that when I was 7 years old)

This is all just a big cultural misunderstanding. He’s just use to having an AK-47 but couldn’t bring it to America with him.

28 miles from Greensboro.

Do a google search on Khalid Sheikh Mohammed & Greensboro. He spent several years in that part of NC. Here ia a link from 2009:

I have {had?} a 12 Gauge Remington pump, and someone modified the barrel length and the stock length {to make it lighter and easier to carry} and because it is kept very clean, I’ve never had any problem with it...except that boat sinking thingy.

The article doesn’t mention specifically what the guy bought, but Remingtons tend to be pretty good, and the likely problem was poor maintenance, IMO. Possibly one of the new Remington 1911s, with limp wristing resulting in stovepipes?

Holy crap - in more ways than one!

More than half of his classmates at Chowan were from the Middle East, just like he was.

He never set anybody’s spidey sense a-tingling before reaching the ripe ole age of 39?

Good grief, why he’s nearly passed suicide-bomber age. They blow up so fast, doncha know!
