RUSH: We got a new kitten. We waited an appropriate amount of time. We went out and got a new kitten, a new Abyssinian, a tawny. And this little cat -- I'm going to have to send some pictures up to Koko over the weekend. This little cat -- Punkin was an adult cat as a kitten. It was the most amazing thing. This little kitten is a kid.

Yes she passed away fairly recently, and Rush finally admitted that that was why he was being so subdued on his regular programme. It was a struggle to try not to think about her passing because he kept choking up.
Lots of FReepers posted their condolences to him about it and prayers of support. Those of us who understood what he was going through (pretty much all of us, really) let him know we were thinking of him and his lovely kitteh.

Rush, I listen every day, and love that you love cats. Breaks my heart, though, that there are millions and millions of strays and shelter cats in need of a home. What a wonderful example you could have shown had you adopted one.

He just did......If nobody adopted from the breeder then what would become of their cats?

I bought an Abby right after Rush bought Punkin.. we named her, Zoey. We had to have her put down about 2 weeks after Punkin died.
Great cat... very similar to what is described in the film. She was red. VERY playful, and SOOO smart. Also, extremely determined. Nothing, could keep her away from chicken!
I don’t think we’re going to get another. Too hard to say good bye.
