Looks good to me. The ratio is right with double the amount of phosphorus to nitrogen. That spike will be slow release, so you may want to get something that is water soluable with the same type ratio, and give it a shot in the arm so to speak.

The directions for bonemeal are on the package. I use it as a side dressing in my beds, and just work it into the soil a little away from the plants a little so I don’t accidentally disturb anything I shouldn’t. It is stinky, though, so sometimes I just use the spikes, and a little miracle grow type stuff with double the phosphorus to nitrogen ratio.

I stake out bones near the captive ant bed so the neighborhood catz don't run off with the bones. When the ants have cleaned and polished the bones for me, I sun dry them and then grind them in my Corona mill.
