Sounds wonderful. My oldest goes to college next year.
My daughter got a fabulous education at North Georgia. The reason we sent her there was she wanted to be a nurse (channeling my mother I think). To do nursing in California (where she had been born and raised...long story think high tech) one had to put their name into a lottery plus have all the prerequisites done before they MIGHT get in. I knew students who had four year biology (both macro and micro) degrees who never made it in and so went into the work force at places like Genentech and Biorad. So long story short, NGCSU has a top rated nursing school. It was less expensive to send her there (even with out of state tuition) than hope she night get in at in California.
End result is she graduated with honors, passed her boards first time out with flying colors, and now does home based care. She works in the field of gerontology and gives the kind of care to her patients that I wished all people could receive. She deals with patients, families, doctors, hospitals, and insurance companies. She hates the onslaught of O-care and fears that it may eventually drive her from the profession she is so good at and the patients she loves and cares for.
Anyway enough blather from a proud parent.
Good luck to your’s at college. I hope they are going to a nice conservative school
