As the GOP is asked to be more inclusive and compassionate to win elections again, Jon Stewart's past goes unnoticed. http://tinypic.com/r/2d9wsvt/5
“f-—king retarded people” voted for Obama twice hope they enjoy it.
He must resign, just like Paula Deen!!!!! Just like Alec Baldwin!!!! (Oh, I forgot, Alec gets a pass, he’s still a TV pitchman.)
Exactly and ‘retarded’ wasn’t being used as a general term. He MEANT mentally challenged people.
I wish there were a site to get the video off of Tinypic and on to YouTube!
Yeah, ‘retarded’ has been made into the socially and politically incorrect ‘R word’, but really is it so different than referring to people as “slow”, “dumb”, “idiotic”, or, as said with irony, “special”? It seems now to have moved beyond being a “sensitive” term—like, I don’t know, “mentally challenged”?—but not yet beyond recognition of its clinical use, such as with dumb or idiotic.
In that sense, is it so different from the dynamic with the ever-moving proper term for “Negroes”, “blacks”, or “African-Americans”?
Can you imagine if Bill Oreilly or Rush Limbaugh were caught saying that term in private?
So you think comedians should be more “inclusive and compassionate” too?
They voted more than twice.
A day.
Per precinct.
Over a decade ago? In private?
Only the usual proglodytes would try to get mileage from that—and we shouldn’t stoop to their level.
But you don’t understand - Jon Stewart is POPULAR. And that means something, doesn’t it? Even if he is totally unfunny to a non-liberal.
It is never necessary to be consistent or even particularly reliable, once you are identified as a genuine anti-Republican liberal, and you are allowed as much filthy speech as you can cram into a span of a few seconds.
Jon Stewart is the reincarnation of Groucho Marx, without the glasses and interchangeable mustache/eyebrows.
I like the Groucho Marx line! :-)
Groucho Marx was funny.
Yea. But surprisingly only in the last few years have we changed retarded to mentally challenged.
And a natural!
I work for a company that cares for mentally challenged adults.
Ironically, many of the staffers are liberals who love Obama. I say ironically because the first casualties from Obamacare will be “retarded” adults, care for whom will be deemed cost-ineffective when measured against their “contributions” to society.
Why is it surprising? They were both developed to describe the same condition or situation, with the intention of being more sensitive than how previous descriptors of the condition had come to be used. I fully expect ‘mentally challenged’ to be replaced by something else down the road.
I can see that.

Yes I saw that. And it is very unfortunate. Can you see the video in the link I posted?
