Big Ben has taken quite a pounding over the years and I think it’s starting to show in year 10.

But he certainly has had some excellent years.

The physics of the NFL are not kind to the physique.

Peyton Manning is in year 15 but the system here in Indy was built around his quick release, and not getting hit very often, and never running. Plus he still had to sit out a year in 2011 to recuperate.

Ben is in his 30s, and in football, 30 is old age. Some players last longer, but not many.

I'm old enough to remember George Blanda, a great quarterback. He played until he was 48, although in his later years, he served as a kicker. But George was the exception. No one today could last that long.
