No, I agree with you about that. I ordinarily consider it stupid to correct an otherwise comprehensible post with minor grammatical errors or spelling mistakes.

But there are three exceptions

  1. When it's somebody's blog or published material. I mean, seriously. Come on! Especially a professional writer.
  2. When the person himself has opened this can of worms by correcting someone else, he becomes fair game and
  3. Use of "I could care less." That one, which means EXACTLY the opposite of the correct idiom "I couldn't care less," just drives me (no NOT literally) insane with grammar-rage.
