He probably was a nice man, but he’s dead now.
I will say that if you buy it to put on the wall, his art is best in very small doses. It’s really great for Christmas cards. But on the whole, it’s a positive, warm and (dare I say) traditional view of “home and family”. I find nothing wrong with that, so I can’t mock the man.
I wasn’t mocking the man I was mocking his art. If he was alive he would be free to mock mine.
