I’d’ve figured it was Yiddish.
She probably should not have been karving her initials on the moose with that interspace toothbrush she got from Sven
soooooooooooooooooooooooo disquieting. it is very upsetting to me.
America demands Justice for the Fallen of Benghazi! |
It’s a long article. What is the disquieting part?
I say this also thinking about the preaching and content of our preaching. A beautiful homily, a genuine sermon must begin with the first proclamation, with the proclamation of salvation. There is nothing more solid, deep and sure than this proclamation. Then you have to do catechesis. Then you can draw even a moral consequence. But the proclamation of the saving love of God comes before moral and religious imperatives. Today sometimes it seems that the opposite order is prevailing. The homily is the touchstone to measure the pastors proximity and ability to meet his people, because those who preach must recognize the heart of their community and must be able to see where the desire for God is lively and ardent. The message of the Gospel, therefore, is not to be reduced to some aspects that, although relevant, on their own do not show the heart of the message of Jesus Christ.
love the sinner, hate the sin, get them insode, and save the soul.
one only needs ro see tje media treatment of what he actually said, to realize the wisdom behind the words.
He says earlier, the churches doctrine, on these matters is quite clear, and I am a son of the Church.
and now he has media all over the world, telling liberals..its ok to back inside those doors, where the message comes from the pulpit, not the media.
Reading comprehension.
Various parts have been decontextualized to fit the medias narrative.
Basically what he said was...get them inside the Church, and deliver your message there..
Ratzinger— i knew his heart and was more willing to give him leeway to bring about his objectives. i don’t know this guy, do not know what his objectives are.
he appears to be wanting to take the emphasis OFF of flagrant sin, which is FAR too often the case in today’s church. There are a HANDFUL of priests who preach the sin of gay marriage and abortion, the majority of the AMchurch pooh-poohs it. This guy is giving them cover to continue doing so.
To put it more simply...consider the Fishes and Loaves.
Jesus, could have seen clearly into the hearts of the 5000.
He didnt. He ministered to them, by feeding them. And THEN he preaced ro them.
Thats all the Pontiff reiterated.
See above. That is exactly what he said.
ok, lets assume that is true. how do you propose to get the leftwing clergy [which is the majority] to preach the truth of sin? i assure you, and Ti can back me up on this. The catholic church in Syracuse[not the campus ministry] which adorned itself with rainbow banners, and who had gays preaching the homily from the pulpit, WILL undoubtedly celebrate a gay marriage before long. THAT is the bent of the clergy there.

Let me ask a simple question. Then I will show how wrong you really are.
Is it more effective, to make public statements, through a media filter, or preach to people directly?
Now, let me ask you.,.how much Coverage does the March for Life get?
Zero,Zip,Nada,None.
We arent reaching anyone that way, and we arent saving lives.
If you get them inside the door, the filter is removed, and souls can be ministered to, and maybe lives can be saved.
I will however agree with you in part.
By making that proclamation, he needed to go one step further, and declare that the moneychangers would be thrown out of the temple. (e.g. Pro abort pols that trade on Carholic ethnicity would be tossed, publicly...there is according to Canon, a different standard for those people..which is to say they are on the level of false prophets)
That’s what I got from reading a long article about him yesterday. We should spend less time judging since that is God’s purview and not ours anyway.
I think the hope is that the Amchurch lefties are dying off. No one is going to make the Syracuse priests change, but they will be replaced.
Thats a different matter. And I do not disagree with you,
But that is an internal matter resolved over time, by replacing Bishops, and Cardinals.
And..I will point this out, William F. Buckley posited the question.
Who is the greater Moral hero, the Homosexual that resists both his impulse to sin, and violate his vows, or the straight priest, with only one hurdle to avoid? (paraphrased, he said ot more eloquently)
And the Pontiff touched on that, again mischaracterized)
Tiogas article seems to have the most of the actual conversation.
Exactly. See 38.
