FULL TITLE: REVEALED: Gunman, 34, who murdered TWELVE and injured 15 in Washington Navy Yard rampage was decorated petty officer who left military in 2011 after previous gun charge
While the motive of Aaron Alexis, the heavily armed gunman who shot dead at least 12 people in cold blood this morning at the Washington Navy Yard has not been revealed, speculation is growing his dismissal from the U.S. Navy for 'misconduct' in January 2011 may have inspired him to commit a deadly revenge.
Alexis, 34, has been revealed to have a prior arrest for letting a gun off that could have harmed his neighbor while he cleaned his own weapon at home in Fort Worth, Texas, 2010.
Despite the lack of acknowledged motive, one U.S. official has been quoted as saying Alexis was kicked out of the Navy in 2011 for 'misconduct' as a direct result of his gun arrest three years ago.
Law enforcement said that Alexis' identity was confirmed by fingerprints and that he served in the U.S. Navy between May 5th, 2007 and January 31st, 2011, the date he was dismissed from the service.
He was awarded the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal and the National Defense Service Medal prior to his discharge in January 2011.
A U.S. Navy spokesman said that Alexis was an 'aviation electrician's mate' - ranked as a third class petty officer and served at the Naval Air Station in Fort Worth, Texas.

Ignoring the strawman that this isn't about blogs, but rather blog pimping; You sentence is false, and the subject/verb root of it (that would be "I think") is most blatantly BS.
So, good FBI counter intel (hopefully) is looking into this. The whole thing looks/feels like an op from way up and inside islamoland. I mean really, the DCIA is a catholic convert to islam. The religion of peace (of the grave).
Please provide FR posting rules where blog content is not allowed. If the ownership of this site finds blogs offensive where are his comments regarding the subject and why haven’t necessary steps been taken to eliminate an individuals ability to post blog content?
If you notice there are normally numerous responses to blog post content sans the blog police. Why is it necessary for certain individuals to disrupt the flow and exchange of the information with their trolling/posting and not providing useful and constructive comment?
If managemnt has a problem with these blogs let them address the problem.
Please point out where anyone implied that it wasn't allowed.
You have made it obvious that you are a bitter old man as well as a troll and an attention whore. Any of your anti-blog comments will be reported as “abuse” from this point on. NOW..FOOM.
Well I guess you have a little project for yourself, Spunky.
That's real cute.
Hey, Junior.. I've made some anti-blog comments today.
Have you reported them? Should I ping you when I make them?
I wouldn't want you to fall behind.
Leaning on the abuse button in a self-serving manner tends to come across as rather attention-whorish to those on the other end.
Hey HumbleTrollWhore...It’s easy to find your obnoxous postings. However, unlike you, I have other things to do other than troll FR looking for postings from blogs. Your anti-blog postings will be flagged soon. Other Freepers are doing the same.
FOOM
Oh, good. Keep me posted.
Other Freepers are doing the same.
Oh, my! A posse!
“Other Freepers? (sic)”
It’s a conspiracy, I tell you! A conspiracy!
Keep your chin up, kid. It’s a name-calling n00b, and it’s just bluffing. Obviously has no clue about what the site owner thinks of your work.
A mature person with an argument against your anti-blogpimping would not resort to calling you profane names.
I welcome to opportunity for the management to finally become aware of my antipathy toward bloggers.
By God, it’s high time.
[smiles]
So.. how's that campaign going?
In the Navy, you can be an Airman, Fireman, or Seaman. If your “A” school involves aircraft, you’re an Airman.
So, yes, he could graduate boot camp as an Airman Recruit (E-1).
I graduated boot camp as an E-1 (Seaman Recruit), and was bumped to E-2 (Seaman Apprentice) in “A” school, and E-3 (Seaman) in “C” school. I tested and was promoted to E-4 (Petty Officer 3rd Class, Cryptologic Technician, Technical) during my first tour. I tested and PNA’ed it for E-5, then got out on a medical issue at my EOS.
