Man that is tough weather. Got to have water, you may have to start using desert growing techniques and edible vegetation that can survive drought(is their such a thing).

Working on it. I've got a grape tomato that shows some drought tolerance, but I'm not sure yet if it's a hybrid. I've been keeping it going in my room for 3 years, and propigating it by cuttings. Next year I plan to grow out some of the seed I've saved from it to see if it grows true, and I'm also crossing it with a slicer and a paste tomato, to see if I can get a drought-tolerant version of those.

How drought-tolerant is it? Well, just before my surgery in July, I gave it a good drink of water. It was 6 weeks before I was strong enough to water it again. The tips of a few branches were just thinking of wilting.

Now, that was indoors, with a fairly constant temperature and no blazing sun. But still, it shows promise.
