This is only the second time in my life (and I'm in my 60s), that I've seen hummingbirds in nature... but, I was able to come within two feet of one particular visitor (to our marigold/geranium potted plant), and he didn't seem phased at all that I was standing there. My daughter took a picture but you really can't see it like you can on your cool photos... they are amazing creatures...

As I worked on my truck this morning, there were hummers buzzing by me and all around me fighting and feeding on some plants my wife has right near my parking area. I you sit still, they will get very close, and there are pictures online of them eating nectar from someone’s hand. I could not get a pic of more than three or four at once, though they were there, they move faster than my finger.
