I would think that that this is a self regulating issue. If I want to buy Nolan Ryan Beef it is already labeled and states where it came from

Will somebody please explain how forcing meat producers to provide information about their products violates the US Constitution? I think that Congress reasonably has the power under the Commerce Clause (Constitution's Clause 3 of Section 8 of Article I) to lawfully require such information on meat products, at least for interstate commerce. Insights welcome.
On the other hand, since the Founding States made the Constitution's Sections 1-3 of Article I to clarify that all federal legislative powers are vested in the elected members of Congress, I don't see where so-called "independent federal regulatory agencies" like the USDA have the constitutional authority to tell anybody to do anything. After all, since Sections 1-3 essentially clarify that Congress has a monopoly on federal legislative powers whether it wants it or not, by delegating regulatory powers to non-elected bureaucrats, Congress is wrongly protecting federal legislative powers from the wrath of the voters imo.
Like all highly detailed and extensive government regulations, it will have perverse effects.
National operators will follow the law, with expenses passed on to consumers. There will be great incentive for low-level operators (think of our migrant community) to simply lie or sell product without it. The Government will not have the ability, or will, to police everyone, so an underground system will develop.
As long as it keeps me from buying meat from China I am happy.

Does the law simply say “where it was born”? If so that means they’d have to say what county and state it was born in. While they’re at it they should be required to how many siblings it had by different faters.
What if the cow was born in Kenya and they made a phony birth certificate saying it was born in Hawaii. How do the Feds prove the true place of birth?
What’s next, birth certificates for cows? BOHICA! A whole new government agency! Regulate this industry till we’re all forced to eat dog from China!
