I prefer Meijer to Walmart myself and the competition of having both stores in town is good.

When WalMart began opening stores in Lansing (within the last ten years—we never had one before that) Meijer sales were hardly scratched but Target got decimated. Brings a smile to my face just thinking about it.

I love Meijer. I remember when it was called Meijer Thrifty Acres.

I will be shopping at the Big Rapids and Cadillac Meijers soon as I will be home next Monday for a few weeks. Menards too. Can't wait.

We have them at opposite ends of town, but the problem with them is that they kill the small grocery stores. we had one small one downtown that was very convenient, but they had to shut down because they couldn’t compete.
