A Saudi woman who married a man thinking he was Saudi discovered he is Yemeni 18 years after their marriage.
Jawahir said the man proposed to her 18 years ago and she accepted him as a husband after he produced false documents showing he was a Saudi citizen.
When their two sons and one daughter went to the secondary school, they were asked to bring their fathers national identity number.
Only then I found that the man with whom I spent 18 years as a wife was not Saudi. I discovered that he had used a fake ID when he married me. When I found out about him, he just fled home and disappeared, she said.

Married to him for 18 years? That makes her about 26 years old, right?
She’s lucky. At least he didn’t rape her to death on their wedding night.

You didn’t read the article. He isn’t Saudi.

After the horror stories I’ve heard about Yemeni marriages, I think she’d better get a divorce or separation while she can.

Yes I did read the article.
The guy who recently raped an 8 year old girl to death on their “wedding” night wasn’t Saudi either - he was Yemeni - as this guy apparently is.

And the news urgency quotient of just such a happenstance is......?
Things could have been worse. Could have been a Jewish guy from Brooklyn named Murray.
