He has eaten his last bug, walked his last tiger and made his last flight on the wings of a bi=plane.

I think his commercials were in several movies.

RIP, Cal. I grew up with his commercials as a kid in Los Angeles. Thanks for the memories.

I’ve seen many of his commercials. I bought two Ford pickups from his Long Beach dealership back in the mid 80s. I saw Cal in person in the 70s when he made an appearance at a ZZ Top concert at Anaheim Stadium. He was there to wrestle his dog spot (a tiger). His act ended when someone threw a whole watermelon on stage and it startled the tiger. How anyone thought his being there with a tiger was a good idea I’ll never know.

On a serious note, I read an interview with Cal Worthington long ago, when he was still running the dealership.
He said that he couldn't stop airing his crazy commercials. Any time he tried to do so, his sales dropped off precipitously.

You have to admit, the commercials worked to attract your attention. Every time a new Cal Worthington ad would come out, I’d always watch it to see what kind of critter Spot was.

What happened to his dog spot?
I thought Cal Worthington was at least 150 years old and would probably live forever.
