RIP, Cal. I grew up with his commercials as a kid in Los Angeles. Thanks for the memories.

I’ve seen many of his commercials. I bought two Ford pickups from his Long Beach dealership back in the mid 80s. I saw Cal in person in the 70s when he made an appearance at a ZZ Top concert at Anaheim Stadium. He was there to wrestle his dog spot (a tiger). His act ended when someone threw a whole watermelon on stage and it startled the tiger. How anyone thought his being there with a tiger was a good idea I’ll never know.
