I like the packaged Knorr sauce mixes best, but the closest place to get them is in the ethnic/Latino aisle in the Boerne grocery-the Knorr products are there, with labels in Spanish...

I don’t know what it is with frogs and the roux thing-MrT5 was a second generation American-most of his family was in Quebec, and he thought my roux phobia was funny-on my first visit, his cousin determined to teach me to make the dreaded roux, without success-I scorched the flour, as usual...

I can even make nice, fresh hollandaise-without messing up the egg yolks, or resorting to a blender. My first attempts ended up looking like a pan of curdled rocks, but now it is easy to do-I can make bearnaise, and pesto, too, but the roux remains a mystery...

We have some small storms in the area-it just got dark and thunder crashed right overhead without warning, startling both Titus and Midget girl from their nap in the kitchen window-they both fell into the sink, all ruffled dignity-Husky girl and Yeti boy just yawned and went back to sleep here by the desk...
