Less than a year after a Washington & Jefferson College football player was killed near campus, seven students, including four of his former teammates, were confronted in the same area early Friday by an armed man who police say fired two shots.
While Washington police said Eric LeMont Williams Jr., 24, of 108 Hall Ave., Washington, fired the shots from his truck, Williams said he was acting in self-defense because he feared becoming the next Trayvon Martin.

I let off two warning shots, letting them guys know to back up and get away from me because I dont want to be the next Trayvon Martin, having to worry about being black and jumped on and not being able to defend myself, Williams told the Observer-Reporter.
Under different circumstances, this guy could be Obama’s lover.
For some reasons, someone keeps moving my articles to General/Chat, when they are clearly news andhave to do with current events.
He feared for his life while firing from his pickup truck?
Good luck with that in court.
The two threads I posted had to do with the obsession with Trayvon. The other article was a kid whose family says he was murdered when the evidence says it was an accident, and they want the DOJ involved. They have held marches etc. There seems to be a pattern with the threads of mine that get moved. I post nothing racist or inflammatory, but someone keeps moving them. It seems odd.
One way ticket to Liberia. Make sure he’s wearing his BBQ-Sauce-On-A-Rope when he’s introduced to the homies with file-sharpened teeth.
“The two threads I posted had to do with the obsession with Trayvon.”
Perhaps certain groups believe this will be the next magic word instead of “racist” which is starting to wear thin.

What a joke! It’s white people who have to worry about being jumped on. Just follow news events.
IOW, ironically, he’s claiming Stand Your Ground rights.

- “Bubba - you will be bunking in this cell with Eric LeMont Williams Jr. for a few weeks - have a nice evening!”

I’m originally from Pittsburgh and attended a few parties at W&J. The two guys I knew there went to law school after graduating. W&J had the reputation for graduating a high number of students who went on to medical school and law school.
When my younger daughter was looking at colleges in 1992-93, we drove from New Jersey to W&J. It still boasted the same reputation for graduating students who went on to medical and law school. Upon arriving on campus, I took one look at the area surrounding the school and said, “You’re not going here!”
What once was a nice little college town had businesses boarded up and bums on the street. I couldn’t believe it.
The same thing held true of USC...University of Southern California. There was a club on every car’s steering wheel in their parking lot! A male student we talked with inside the school said, “You don’t want to go here...it’s not safe.”
When we pulled into a gas station across the street from campus, I was about to get out to pump gas when a man, who looked like a zombie from Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” video came toward me. I forgot about the gas and left! Scary stuff!
I am withholding judgment at this point, for a few reasons.
More details, but still fuzzy.

plain stupid, at least the moron didn’t hurt anyone.
30 years ago it was the TWINKIE DEFENSE
now we have the Trayvonne Defense.
are we better off now?
The only mentions of this story are in observer-reporter.com, and this FR thread.
“I dont know the area around W & J, but you are spot-on about USC. The daughter of a friend of mine just transferred to USC. I told him I hope she has a CCW permit and plenty of range time.”
LOL...I will ever never forget being there...and what I saw....and we had visited many campuses. THAT one stands out.
Before we visited the campus, I had visions of USC and UCLA. I imagined USC as beautiful and safe. I thought UCLA was in a dirty downtown urban setting. Quite the opposite!
UCLA is in Westwood....a beautiful area! Nice campus.
My daughter ended up choosing Clemson. It was safe...so beautiful, and she absolutely loved it. I did, too! She makes an annual trip for a Clemson Tigers football game. Just last week she flew from San Diego, (where she lives), and met her friends there for the Clemson-Georgia game. Good times...good memories for her. It was a great choice!
