The new Ruger SR22 is head and shoulders superior to the other .22 weapons on the market. A simple modification allows the magazines to hold 13 rounds, with one in the firing chamber for double action first shot. Loaded with 60 grain Aguilla super subsonic rounds (~850 ft/sec, 160 ft lbs of muzzle energy) which tumble and hit really hard at closer ranges (inside forty feet) and a threaded barrel for any improvised suppressor and you have the idea shtf personal close in protection weapon.
I’m partial to revolvers myself. For semi-auto magazine fed pistols I have a bunch of 1911s, Berettas, Glocks, a Remington or Browning or two, and some military stuff (revolvers and semis).
If you’re talking Ruger semi pistols, my pair of SR1911s are primo....fitted with roll-pin locked ambi safety’s and the custom Ruger Eagle grips, with matching Ruger leather holsters, of course....
