The head of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops said Congress must seize on a "once-in-a-generation" chance to pass comprehensive immigration reform when it comes back from its August recess next week.
Writing in the New York Daily News, Timothy Dolan, who is also archbishop of New York, invoked Pope Francis and Martin Luther King, Jr. in arguing that immigration reform would help families and the economy while improving the country's security.

It is that but more so the Jesuits particularly and much of the Catholic church are infected by liberation theology and marxism to the point of no return. It is about destroying national sovereignty to aid bringing about world socialism and world government. For the same reason the Catholic church would support the FSLN in Nicaragua to the point of allowing the Pope to visit where he was lucky to not have been killed on the spot. Ideologically many can’t help themselves even if the outcome is anti-Christian and suicidal.
I agree with the good Cardinal. Let’s start by enforcing the current laws, get a very big wall built, with a moat filled with I’ll tempered sea bass with laser beams on their frikin heads and the deportation of every illegal alien who is serving a sentence in a US prison and their families.
Then and only then should we have this discussion.
We’ve heard the term ‘nativist’ before, applied generally to anyone who opposes “undocumented immigrants.” Setting aside the movie “Gangs of New York” I suppose if it applies at all it would be here.
But it doesn’t. If the Catholic church wants to pay for these new members, they can sponsor them and post bonds; if not, they can go pound sand.
I don’t disagree. Do you think the Jesuits long game is to put the pope over this world government?
Mmmmm ill tempered sea bass sound delicious!
When they come here Hispanics are converting to the evangelical churches and even Islam.
The Church refuses to evangelize the latter, and hasn’t a clue how to reach the former.
There’s nothing wrong with advocating breaking the law if the law is unjust. For instance, if the bishops advocated mass resistance to Obamacare, I would have no problem.
In the 1980s, thousands of people blocked the doors of abortion clinics. Only a couple of bishops ever supported this movement, and NO bishop ever instructed the police that removing people from the doors was a criminal act.
I doubt today's Church would want much to do with him. He CERTAINLY would not have a TV show.
The Jesuits don’t have a long game. They are a dying order. They will not exist in 30-50 years.
The Catholic Church has had an agenda of unrestricted immigration from Catholic countries into the US since the 1965 immigration law lifted the national origin limitations and changed us to a national cap on overall immigration per year.
The agenda has always been to turn the US into a majority Catholic nation, so that Catholics could find another country to turn into an economic welfare state, just as they’ve done in every other country where Catholics hold sway.
We may very well decide to grant some type of legal residency status to people who have come here illegally. However we must consider what we really owe these people beyond that. Any other country would redouble efforts to find and remove these people. Instead, our collectivists redouble their efforts to grant these people full citizenship.
We will be making a GRAVE MISTAKE if we grant these people the right to vote, now or ever.
If there’s anything the Jesuits are NOT involved in, it’s doing anything to increase the power of the papacy!
No. More likely a world religion. If one reads Keys To The Blood or The Jesuits both by Malachi Martin the reality of the push for a NWO and the international power plays and marxist thinking in and out of the church have been well known and a reality for all for decades. The unbelief and heresy along side of faith has always been an artful balancing act among the leadership in the Vatican and South America. I don’t know what the plans might be but the rise of the beast and the false prophet will surely take center stage. I don’t think the beast or the anti-christ will be the pope as much of early protestantism believed. I think every power is vying for control and a place at the table in this NWO or global confederacy and redistribution of power.
Supposedly they were done in the late 18th century, too.
I am a Catholic. But I have to agree that the influence of Catholic voters and Catholic politicians in the U.S. has been largely malign. The majority of “Catholics” in federal office are pro-abortion and socialist, and the bishops sell them Holy Communion in exchange for federal money.
I hold the historic Protestant view of Rome. I didn’t always believe that, but after spending a lot of time reading long dead Protestants I have changed my mind.
At that time, they were suppressed. Nowadays, they are just dying.
In the U.S., the Jesuits have become brazenly, contemptuously pro-abortion. They continue to honor pro-abortion politicians as Commencement speakers and honorary-degree recipients each year—when even most liberal Catholic colleges have ceased doing so.
How can you know that? Is that the truth or is that what they want the world to believe? Historically they were known as masters of misdirection. When did they change?
For the record, I have no answers. I am simply wary.
A generation is what, 20 years? 30 years?
He makes it sound like this is a long, long time.
