It's the frog in the pot of heating water.
Don't look for dramatic 6-day riots like Watts in 1965. There might be a few such conflagrations, but I believe the urban meltdown will take place over a few years, with occasional spikes in the summers.
Unless/until the power grid goes suddenly and stays down for more than a week or two. Then the end will come quickly.
I live in an isolated part of rural upstate NY, and pray that the distance and Poconos are enough to keep the crazed masses and smoke from NY City away.
