Disagree. With a mom that volatile and considering this is kindergarten, likely the first social setting for the kid, why wouldn't he show mom-like behavior, what was learned in the home. No, short of any further information, I'd go with the teacher.

A little, budding Tawana Brawley who made up lies to cover her own sorry arse. The kid lied to his mother, saying that a scratch on his neck was from the teacher. Mother over-reacts, beats teacher, and will be (hopefully) seriously fined and possibly do jail time.

The mother had already called the principal to express her concern. She might have acted grown up and waited to see where that led before acting like an animal.
