Don’t drink any juices sweetened with HFCS. I used too, and my doc said that’s the most likely reason I have Type 2. I was drinking gallons a week. I’m not very fond of fruit, and I figured the juice was an easy way to get my fruit. Stopped partaking in it and my very high blood sugar dropped almost immediately to slightly above high normal. Don’t have to take any meds right now.

Fruit smoothies.

My standard recipe is 1/2 banana, and 1/4 mixed FROZEN tropical (or other fruit) mix, and 1/4 FROZEN blueberries from the freezer section of my local supermarket. Add a couple of packets of Equal.

Blend/liquify (NINJA blender ($60) performs as well or better than the top of the line Vita-mix...according to both my experience and Consumer Reports).

Yields two cups of delicious sherbet-like product.

Retains ALL nutrients in the original fruit (except the peel of the banana, which I toss).
