That’s a pretty good summation of his weaknesses. If you compare him to Peyton Manning or Tom Brady as a pocket passer, then no, he’s not very good. Neither are many “athletic” quarterbacks, but they are given year after to year to show the “upside” we keep hearing about. Tebow is done. Can’t even be a backup. Terrelle Pryor is a starter. Pryor looks like what the NFL wants an athletic QB to look like. Tebow doesn’t.
Actually the modern NFL hardly gives anybody more than 1 season to get it together. If Pryor doesn’t succeed this year, his first as a starter, he’s gone, and really if Flynn hadn’t sucked in the pre-season he’d be starting. What the league wants athletic QBs to look like is the same as they want every other QB to look like: over 60% completions.
