The first annual San Jose Bacon Festival of America took place Saturday.
The festival, which started at 11:00 a.m., lasted until 10 p.m. and features a bacon-cooking competition, a bacon beauty pageant, a bacon parade, a bacon square dance and bacon games.
"Bacon is really popular these days, and we expect almost 10,000 people here today at the flea market," said Ryan Sebastian, who is the mastermind behind the festival.
People who attended the festival said they enjoyed the festivities.
"I'm actually here cause I want to pin the bacon on my own waistline," one woman who attended the festival said.
"It's like disgustingly fabulous," another woman said.
The event was held at the San Jose Flea market on Maybury Road.
All bacon dishes were $5 or less.
