A leading human rights group has called on Dunkin' Donuts to withdraw a "bizarre and racist" advertisement for chocolate doughnuts in Thailand that shows a smiling woman with bright pink lips in blackface makeup.
Human Rights Watch said it was shocked to see an American brand name running an advertising campaign that would draw "howls of outrage" if released in the United States.
The CEO for Dunkin' Donuts in Thailand dismissed the criticism as "paranoid American thinking." "It's absolutely ridiculous," said CEO Nadim Salhani. "We're not allowed to use black to promote our doughnuts? I don't get it. What's the big fuss? What if the product was white and I painted someone white, would that be racist?"
Salhani said that the Thai franchise of Dunkin' Donuts operates independently of the American operation and that doughnut sales have increased about 50 percent since the campaign was launched around two weeks ago, which he attributed to curiosity about the new advertisements. "Not everybody in the world is paranoid about racism," said Salhani.

She's hot (chocolate)...
Exactly. Some people still have their heads screwed on straight.
Scouts Outs! Cavalry Ho!
The U.S. leads the west in race paranoia.
Oh, no—foreigners not falling for the race shakedown.
This could be a bad precedent for the careers of Jesse Jackson, Sharpton, and the rest of the race hustlers if this attitude spreads to Western countries.
Do they truly not know what a M_LF is?
Two ghetto monkeys kill a white veteran and we're lucky it's in the news. Flash mobs. Knock out games.
And they're gettin bent over an ad in a foreign country? They've become a running joke.
I disagree. I think Auntie Jemima is cute as a button.
Shocked I tell you, just shocked.
I’d hate to see the Doughnut with sprinkles personification looks like....
Hey, I kinda like Aunt Jemima. Reminds me of my favourite “aunt” (actually a former classmate of my mom) from my childhood. It took me an embarrassingly long time to figure out that she wasn’t actually a blood relative.
Probably a lot like the girl on the Wendy’s logo.
Morgan Freeman...Opie Taylor?
I wish this “Human Rights Watch” would stop trying to tell colored people what to be offended about. Almost telling them they can’t think for themselves.
“paranoid American thinking.”
I’m sure he means our racist Obama supporting minorities.
Now I know how the 10% good cops feel.
Translation: Give us money and we’ll go away.
Like what’s rassiss in the campaign, they only showed white cops?
THIS JUST IN: Dunkin Dognuts Inc, has just issued an apology: “Some of our best customers are black poe-lease.”
