If you know baseball, you remember - if you are middle-aged - Rick Monday saving the flag from the hippie shi*s. This is fun and cool. It is also genius on the Dodger marketing team.

Nice pic of the bobblehead at the link. But I’ve always wondered: Why did it fall to a member of the opposing team to stop the hippies from burning the flag? Didn’t the Dodgers have security back then?

Thanks for changing the title so that you could interject the word crap into it, it really classes up the joint, kinda makes it like DU thread titles.

Too bad they won't have the people who actually tried to burn the flag there so everyone could “pay their respects”.

Rats!! And I can’t go tonight. I’ve been able to collect several of the bobble heads over the past two years — that’s a GREAT ONE! I also missed the Vin Scully bobble head : (

Monday was part of the “Iron Curtain Infield.” So many years they ruled the baseball world as Giant (and Yankee) killers.
Dodger fans will appreciate how great it was that our own National Treasure Vin Scully was made the call.
If I was back in L.A. (forced out by liberal stupidity 2 years ago), I would go to the game just to get this souvenir!

Right now I have a few Cleveland Indians players (my team) and several of Willie Mays, my favorite player as a kid.
