I kinda' wondered why we do it, even though I do it just because "everyone else" does. I don't wash beef or pork, but I do rinse fish.
Since I no longer trust anything the government says and will always assume they are lying to me (for whatever reason), I will continue to rinse chicken before cooking.

Ever been on a fishing boat? Don’t care if it is commercial or private.... food sanitation issues are not on the list of things to do.

My dad used to work in a large meat packing plant. I wash ALL meats and veg before I cook or eat it. Unless I picked it from my garden.
