An Australian camper was missing and presumed dead after being snatched by a crocodile in front of onlookers as he swam across a river with a friend. Alcohol may have played a part in the decision to swim, Police said.

Here, hold ma beer (only with an aussie accent
Sorry for the victim, but this is news, how???
Now if it had been an Auzzie that was snatched by a croc in Alaska. THAT would have been news.
Note to self: Do not try to swim across muddy croc-infested waters in the Australian outback.
Note to self: Crocs and beer don’t mix.

That is what crocodiles do. They eat things. I suppose they could send the Gator Boys over there to catch him.
Exactly. Same applies to killer whales and sharks and i don’t wanna hear that crap about “oh, because humans look like seals m’kay?”
Discerning sharks say: “Tastes like seal to me.”
Happened near Darwin, fittingly.
You don’t have to outswim the croc, just the other swimmer.
“The Mary River is known worldwide to have the greatest saturation of adult saltwater crocodiles in the world. You don’t swim in the Mary River,” he said.
Definately a Darwin candidate.
Bloody hell! Has it really been THAT LONG that there are actually some people who have never seen “Crocodile Dundee”?
“+Saltwater crocodiles, which can grow up to 23 feet long and weigh more than a tonne, are a common feature of Australia’s tropical north...”
Holy crap! He’s a goner!
If you live in Florida, don’t throw chicken bones in a canal and then decide to take a swim in it after you celebrated the 4th of July, with a BBQ and being all beered up. The Gators think you are just a larger chicken.
That advice about staying 5 meters back from the bank is good, too. I watched a video of a croc which was taken underwater. The croc lay on the bottom of the river, about 5 feet deep, looking up at the bank. A young deer type animal came up to drink water. From underwater, you couldn’t tell exactly what was there standing on the bank but you could certainly see sunlight blocked by the body of the the animal. That was enough for the croc. The croc launched himself out of the water and grabbed the animal’s head much much faster than I thought possible. So yes...stay back from the bank 5 meters. The animals that duck back are pursued up the bank at horrifying speeds. What a video...still makes an impression on me.
You swim with crocks, you don’t swim for long.
“Alcohol may have played a part”
Raise the drinking age for Crocs!!
oh... wait...
Salwater crocs are prevalent all around that region and not just Australia. There was an article below that one about an young American woman killed by a saltie off the coast of India at a resort in the Andaman Islands.
Crikey!
Yep
Gee, ya think?
