I too am married to a Filipina. In my case, it was more of a necessity than to just display the food items - our house in Manila did not have any cabinets to store food, so everything was stacked on the counter. There is also a cultural aspect of wishing to “display” the food as somewhat of a status symbol (as explained by my wife).

I thought as much...thanks for replying...Filipinas are incredible wives but they do have their ways....Love’em just the same.....Have you noticed that filipinas brag when they shoudln’t...totally cultural....kind of comical.
