I too am married to a Filipina. In my case, it was more of a necessity than to just display the food items - our house in Manila did not have any cabinets to store food, so everything was stacked on the counter. There is also a cultural aspect of wishing to “display” the food as somewhat of a status symbol (as explained by my wife).

Yes! Too funny! My wife has been in the US for just over two years. When she posted a picture on FB of her car, her friends said, “Oh! Your husband must be a rich man!”
To your original question, I bought a 36” x 6’ storage cabinet from Home Depot for about $150. It has worked well as a pantry for us.
