Vehicle shot on KC interstate
KANSAS CITY - Someone opened fire on a vehicle during the morning rush hour in Kansas City Friday.
It happened at westbound I-435 and Wornall around 7:50 am.
A pickup truck was hit when someone in another car opened fire. There were no reports of injuries. Police said another SUV initally thought to be involved was actually a witness.
"She was in the left lane, the victim was in the middle lane, the suspect in the right lane," says Detective Blake Rhodes. "All of a sudden she heard loud booms and didn't realize what was going on. She looked over and saw the victim ducking."
The victim was decribed as "very shaken up," especially because his 11-year-old daughter was with him.
Police are searching for a maroon colored sedan. The suspect driver is described as a black man wearing a colorful hat with a black female passenger.

I hate the whole of the situation but the situation we are in has to end. Life this way, with this regime and the constant badgering is no life at all.
Most people just want to live quietly and raise their families to do the same. I believe that they naturally only want what they can earn. My friend was shot at and was centimeters from dead on the 105 freeway in Los Angeles in the middle of the day, two weeks ago. It never even made the news!
She and her 11 year old son had gone to LAX to pick up her husband. They were driving a new luxury sedan. A car cut them off in their lane so suddenly it nearly caused a wreck, so her husband, who was driving, honked his horn. Something anyone would do in a dangerous situation. He didn’t do anything threatening like flip the guy off or anything. The guy disappeared, faded into traffic, for a couple minutes.
Then he reappeared alongside their car in the next lane. He was staring at my friend in a mean way - my sweet 40-something blonde friend. Then their 11 year old son, sitting just behind her in the rear passenger seat, yelled, “He’s got a gun!” He had pulled out a handgun and was aiming at my friend, and shot. The poor little guy saw a strange man shoot his mother! Can you imagine?
The bullet went right into the door an inch or two behind her head. He watched as if to see what he hit, then took off. They pulled over and called 911 and waited for the cops. The highway patrol and the LAPD central division were really upset and said that while random shootings occur frequently (? How come we never hear of them?), it is rare for a FAMILY to be targeted.
This family is traumatized. Driving a millisecond slower, my friend would be dead. If Dad had sped up upon seeing the car pullalongside, his son could be dead.
The perp was medium skin, with very curly or kinky hair. The family couldn’t say 100% his race but looked like African American or a mix with Hispanic. My friends are “white Hispanics” like Zimmerman. As far as they know, this guy has not been caught.
