It's official! Ben Affleck has been cast as Bruce Wayne/Batman in Zack Snyder's still untitled Batman/Superman sequel to this past summer's Man of Steel. The announcement was made today by Greg Silverman, President, Creative Development and Worldwide Production, and Sue Kroll, President, Worldwide Marketing and International Distribution, Warner Bros. Pictures. The studio has slated the film to open worldwide on July 17, 2015.
Last months surprise announcement of the new movie featuring both Superman and Batman created a wave of excitement and immediately fueled discussion and debateamong fans as well as in the mediaabout who would put on the cape and cowl of Bruce Waynes alter ego.
Snyder successfully re-imagined the origin of Clark Kent/Superman in the worldwide blockbuster Man of Steel, which has earned more than $650 million worldwide to date, and climbing. The director will now create an original vision of Batman and his world for the film that brings the two DC Comics icons together. Affleck will star opposite Henry Cavill, who will reprise the role of Superman/Clark Kent. The film will also reunite Man of Steel stars Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane.

Unfortunately nobody really dies in the comics. :)
There is ALREADY a petition out there for people to sign protesting this decision...
Boooooo!
Given that Daredevil is essentially a blind Batman, I think we’ve already seen this movie. Feh.
Won’t be seeing then.
I couldn’t find any info on his character. (I checked imdb)
I assume it will be another CGI type action flick.
American Psycho was great as well.
Affleck? Better than Clooney for the role, but not much. I'll skip it.
I’m sure the special effects will be wonderful.
But movies like RoboCop are built on the emotion of hate. The slimy monster business man. And in the end when he is blown into dust we all get an emotional release.
Really it is sick.
True.
But I’ll probably go see it. What a hypocrite I am.
Just like Star Trek,,, the odd ones suck.. Affleck is #5...
We all are, just to varying degrees. I’ll probably see it too.
Keaton was good, I thought. Of all of the movies I think I like “Batman Returns” the best.
Bale was good too.
Kilmer and Clooney, not so much. Though the scripts for their movies were terrible and an abortion, respectively, so I don’t think casting mattered much. The Clooney one is easily one of the worst pieces of crap I ever saw. You would have to pay me to sit through it again. The Kilmer one, not good at all either, decent only in comparison.
I *know*.
Exquisitely horrible....;D
I liked the Christian Bale Batman
Forget it,glad I just saved the 10 bucks im not going to spend on that one
I also liked Kilmer, in the role. though his Doc Holiday was the best role he will ever have.
George Clooney was the absolute worst....and the batfilm he was in was the absolute worst.
I've seen that film at least twice. Did Kal-El not come to Earth from Krypton? Did he not assume the identity of Clark Kent?
How was Superman's origin 're-imagined'?
Arrrgh! Sorry. I was confusing it with the film “Superman Returns” with Brandon Routh. I’ve yet to see Man of Steel. Is it any good?
