No, it isn’t time. Screw your litres - I don’t see a pump around that pumps it. Screw your Kgs.....my scale don’t have it. Screw your meters, Kliks and whatever. I’m not a soldier anymore and my rifle scope and rangefinder are in yards. We don’t need it because you think it is neater, cooler, or other countries use it. I don’t even buy Coke by the frigging “litre” because I don’t have to adapt to your idea of ‘what should be’.
On the last leg of a European trip my wife and I were on a bus from Dover, England, to London. Thinking the Brits had already adopted the metric system, I mentioned to her "It's probably just a few klicks to the city."
A haughty male English voice from behind us somewhere butted in to inform me the the Brits are still using their traditional measurements. Trying to be friendly and having just been to Europe, I told him keeping up with all the national policies could be a little confusing. In his best "hate stupid Americans" voice he informed me it was all "just a matter of basic intelligence." I let it pass.
Then I remembered renting a car in England and mentioned to my wife how expensive an Imperial gallon of gas had been. The same haughty voice butted in again: "We sell gas by liters, not gallons." What are you gonna' do? The bus was too crowded for a decent fist-fight.
