According to Dick Van Dyke, "Somebody's looking after me!" And ain't that the truth, after he escaped without a scratch Monday while his car burned up on the side of the 101 Freeway.
"Van Dyke's melted car ... He's fine thank God!!," his wife, Arlene, tweeted after the incident, including a link to a short Vine video of the actor's fried ride.
Though according to the California Highway Patrol accident log it was two off-duty nurses who yanked the 87-year-old out of the four-door sedan, Van Dyke told a TMZ cameraman it was just an ordinary citizen, and "a fireman and a nurse and a cop just happened to be passing by." Hence the guardian-angel chat.

Hopefully it wasn't a daily driver. You'd be rebuilding it every weekend.
Even driving it weekends in the summer, you'd be rebuilding it every winter.
“Hes 87 and still driving?????”
Yeh my Mom is 90 and still driving. There is no age limit on it ya know.
What do you call a lesbian driving a van load of dildos?
ah. british gubmint motors.
My 90 year old neighbor drives a LOT SAFER than my 40 year old neighbor!!! Trust me!
Think CA NASCAR.
In re my way pre-Iraqi War 8-track-equipped 3.4 liter, almost two-ton DOHC XJ6, first you replace the British Radiator with a 5-row heavy duty radiator, then add a biiig oil cooler and an even biiiger transcooler, all with fans to match (in my baby blue baby, the trans was GM ...also AC and power accessories) ...infinitely hot-rod-able and modified by Santa Monica's best, throw in an 75-amp alternator and Mallory Ignition, Brembo brakes and steel flex lines, give a subtle beef-up to the suspension, and off you go hurtling through the 120-degree desert at 100 mph smooth as silk, safe as a house, Bob's your Uncle, Fanny's your Aunt.. Twin 13 gal tanks giving an easy 350 mile combat radius.
By making these few mods, you could stretch the TBO to what? 6-7 months?
I think that Jag is part of Ford.
i don’t think so. i read it was a separate british multinational.
Actually Ford sold Jaguar to Tata Motors(India), in 2008.
