I spent most of yesterday deeply troubled with our President, who some say has welcomed the Muslim Brotherhood into the White House on various occasions. I’m exploring the lighter side of life for a moment. Sorry if I’ve disturbed you.

Probably so.

But the point is that women generally feel that most guys just can’t dress themselves for public forums. It was simple back in the 1800s...you had one pair of pants for funerals, weddings, and town-hall meetings...and a plain white shirt that went along with it. No discussion on fashion for the common man.

Today? You have to be fitting the occasion...whether at Catfish Cabin, Wal-Mart, or church.

I've gotten used to people confusing me with someone wearing a Bus Driver uniform. That is how bland and consistently nondescript I look most the time. Once I know things fit well and match, my mind is no longer on clothing per se.
IOW, you aren’t interested in being attractive in the eyes of any particular woman. When you’re buying a birthday gift for a nephew, it would never occur to you to select clothing for him - you are quite sure, correctly almost certainly, that he would prefer a video game or roller skates or some other toy or tool. OTOH a niece would be very pleased to be taken to the mall and be allowed to select an item of clothing as a present, which is the very last thing you would expect a boy to enjoy.
If you have a wife or girlfriend, your attitude towards your appearance changes - shopping for clothes doesn’t suddenly become fun, but you do have someone whose opinion of how you should dress matters to you. You don’t actually spend a lot of time in front of a mirror, so it doesn’t matter so much to you what you look like. But since your wife does care about your appearance, and does after all see you from the outside whereas you do not, it is only sensible to defer entirely to your wife’s preference in clothing for you. What is your motive to argue over something you don’t care about?
She grew up caring about clothes, and you grew up not caring about clothes. End of story.

This thread will certainly hold the Obama administration accountable for the NSA fiasco.
