it’s a good emergency tool for cooling someone/thing down too.
but too expensive compared to ice and water.
Ummm...
Awful lot of work that just leaves them in their normal state... (senseless... ;-)
Does provide pleasant therapeutic relief though!
If you’re out of hand cleaner after working on the car, wash your hands with toothpaste.
Heh, are you kidding me? I went to see that movie (One of the Naked Gun movies) with my best friend who is slightly dyslexic, and we both laughed till we had tears coming out of our eyes!
He said when he saw it, he didn’t get it at all for a second because it looked perfectly normal to him!
We still think that was one of the funniest scenes we had ever seen in a movie...:)
ROFLMAO!!!
FANTASTIC! never heard that one!
White lithium grease is the real answer for door hinges. WD40 is suitable for spraying on lawn tools to slow rust, it is simply not a proper lubricant as many think.
Also make great Balots!
LOL! When my Mom was alive, that was almost exactly what she said.....along with "Those nasty #&!*% things!"
I hope you did something sensible like set the barracks on fire.
For later
That barracks was pretty good, with one exception: They had a huge row of toilets next to those scalding, steam-heated showers. When someone flushed a toilet ( and people did it just to mess with people in the shower) the cold water would disappear for a split second, the pressure would drop, and the temperature would turn SCALDING hot. I burned the crown of my head one time.
For years after, no matter where I was, if the water pressure dropped even a smudgen, I would leap out of the shower. It took me a long time to break that habit!
Now, the barracks at Millington, Tennessee was another thing altogether. I should have known when I opened the dresser, someone had , with a pencil, kept track of scores of roaches killed. THAT place, when you turned on the light, you would LITERALLY see the roaches scatter. THAT place SHOULD have been burned down!
A dime or quarter works as a flat blade screwdriver, and are easier to use than a “plower” plug.
My first barracks was an ancient building on Barksdale AFB. My roommate lived off base with his girlfriend so I had the biggest room to myself. I moved in and the place was crawling with roaches and spiders. I saturated the edges with raid and dropped a bunch of roach hotels behind the furniture. It was all good after that.
I have found that the 2 1/2 quart Vlasik brand whole dill pickle jar (found at WallyWorld works very well for spaghetti noodles...
They sell stainless steel “ice cubes” for cooling whiskey drinks, so the whiskey doesn’t get watered down. Might work for.beer.
Steel probably has a greater heat capacity than ice, so it will probably cool a drink faster.
LOL!
I’ve done that before too. Only bummer about that, is the pervasive smell or Raid after that...now, I smell Raid, and my memory goes right back to those places.
But the smell of jet exhaust...now that is sweet to me. I smell that, and I think of being twelve years old in the Philippines and eighteen years old in Millington, TN and smelling it on the flight line. I was learning about life, ever expanding, every day had the potential of bringing you something beyond your experience. Not much different than today in that respect, there were just a lot more things I hadn’t done. Funny how the smell does that. I can actually, for split second, FEEL what it felt like back then
But when I smell Raid, that brings back memories of a mattress on a floor, beige colored walls and rusted baseboard heating, all wrapped in a gray early morning light coming in through dirty windows.
Heh, I like jet fuel better...:)
I saw something along those lines recently, and it seemed very interesting to me. I know they’ve been around for a while, but I hadn’t really given them a second thought.
I saw some rocks (think they were granite cubes) that were made specifically for putting into whiskey as you saw.
It seemed kind of elegant to me. They were very nice looking, and polished, no sharp edges, just moderately rounded cubes.
I like the concept of stainless steel ones.
Ahh. LOL, here I am, talking about cubes. I might as well say I like the brass ones as well...heh, I had just gone back and re-read the post and said “Wait...what?”
