CRANBERRY TOWNSHIP, Pa. Decked in camouflage, a Beaver County bride and groom said "I do" Saturday at the new Field & Stream store opening in Cranberry Township. At the wedding was a very special guest to surprise the couple.
It was Mehgan Cook's dream to walk down the aisle to duck calls. Surrounded by friends, family, and a couple hundred strangers, the 26-year-old bride married Charlie Miller in the middle of the new outdoors store.
The bride wore a camouflage sash, the groom wore his boots, and the two married under an arbor of wild animals, but the couple wasn't prepared for what would happen after they exchanged vows.
Willie Robertson, of the A&E reality show "Duck Dynasty," surprised his super-fans with his congratulations.
"It was like Christmas morning when you're a little kid," Miller said. "I was like, 'Oh my goodness.'"
"That's a first for me and it's good to be a part of that. They look like my kind of folks," said Robertson, who was at the store opening to sign autographs.
"I was going to cancel the wedding because we heard Willie was coming," Cook said.
It was the bride's mother's idea to have the wedding at the store.
"Ever since I was a little kid, that's all we did -- hunt and fish -- so I didn't want to be in no church in a tuxedo. I wanted to feel comfortable and just have fun," Miller said.
The folks at Field & Stream played along and convinced Robertson to surprise the couple and their families, a dream for Cook who never thought she'd get married.
FWIW I've mentioned on other threads that while I enjoy DD I fear the Roberstons are of the Jimmah Carter type southern democrats. Not as bad of course but still...
Thanks for the Svengoolie link ... watching now! (And “Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea” comes on next! :) )
I'm really getting hooked on Sven, LOL!
Actually her dress is very pretty. God Bless them and thank you Willie because they will tell this story to their grandchildren
A t-shirt for the groom? Really?
Not democrats at all. Read book, “Happy, Happy, Happy”. Father said he could find nothing in common with democrat party; they are conservative republicans all the way.
Great to hear!
