I always thought the Super Bowl was created to deflect from administration crimes. You agree?

Not long enough. It takes a full season for a good distraction. (The circus needs to be dragged out over a few weeks, minimum.)

Keep in mind that I'm not saying these incidents occur because the administration wants something to hide behind.

However, the media use these to fill the column inches and minutes of airtime they could devote to reporting on government's excesses, inappropriate largesse, failed policies, and downright criminal behaviour.

However, I must note they have nothing to fear from a dead perpetrator, and the Government can make things rough for them--not to mention the usual aggrieved people who decide motivation might be anything other than exposing criminal or improper behaviour.
