Seems like these little but spectacular 'human interest' crimes are tailor made to overshadow the crimes of the Administration in DC. I realize there are always sickos and situations which can be splattered all over America's living rooms, but the media have been using them to smokescreen the failures of the administration and the criminal acts thereof.

In the meantime, the cultural ADHD (--Oh Look! A Butterfly!--) of Americans plays right into the entire media paradigm, making the concealment and obfustication of issues of far more global and national import possible.

Throw in a dash of "social media" and people are completely distracted from the very things which have macro influence on their world, while they concentrate on minutiae.

I always thought the Super Bowl was created to deflect from administration crimes. You agree?
