Another article knocking Facebook and its users. I’ve been on FB for 4 years and love it, as do millions of other people. There’s nothing anti-social about it. Everyone I know on it has a very active social life besides FB. Whoever wrote this knows nothing about which they speak. Being on FB is no different than spending time on the computer being on Freerepublic, just one is for policital activities, and the other is for more friends and family oriented activities.
I luv it too. I get to stay in touch with family and friends who live too far away to see every week.
We share pics and vids and recipes and jokes and instant message each other. Do group talks. Its like they are living next door.
My eldest daughter is living in Chicago (I know, I know — she won’t listen). I play Lexulous with her via Facebook. It helps my peace of mind when she responds and I know that she is okay.

Except FR doesn’t link to RL and I don’t give out info to be used for identity theft or worse.
I think anyone who puts RL info onto FB is a damn fool (no offense).
I have been on it since 2008 and love it too. All of my friends and relatives have a very active social life. It is not like we are on it 24/7. I think these people had problems before FB. All of my friends/relatives are very positive people. I get more conservative news on fb than any other place. I had 2 liberal friends from school but are no longer friends. I could only take so much liberal nonsense.
Hey, I found out about the Overpasses to Impeach Obama movement on FB weeks ago. Not to mention meeting up with some long-lost friends.
Well, let's see...
FR doesn't track me
FR doesn't scan what I post (except for the all seeing mods, bless 'em :)
FR doesn't mine what I post
FR doesn't shove ads at me based on that mining
FR doesn't have privacy controls
FR doesn't, therefore, change the way the privacy controls work with out warning, exposing me
Finally, FR has and enforces pretty strict rules about members' behavior
What were you saying again about there being no difference between FB and FR?
I truly detest the idea of Facebook and am not slightly surprised at the results of this study.
FR is totally different. It has real content. Love it here.
But then, I’m a very private person and fully intend to stay that way.
