Former ‘Bachelor’ star Gia Allemand has died in a New Orleans hospital, according to TMZ.

The reality TV star was admitted Monday night and TMZ reports Allemand was eventually placed on life support.

Allemand's publicist issued a statement on Tuesday, which described her as having had an "emergency medical event."

Although I’ve never heard of her or seen that show, it’s tragic that such a young person should pass in that manner. May God bestow His grace upon her in the next life.

Who? Although I always regret the passing of anyone -well, MOST anyone, even though I should not admit that, I still question the necessity of posting the passing of "a former Bachelor star" on this or any other forum. I think one of the older local female Veterans died a couple of years back who someone told Me was a secretary to MacDouglas during the war, however despite having the pleasure of meeting her once or twice I did not feel the need to publicize it when I found out about her passing.

In the obituary section of the relevant newspaper of course, but let's have some discretion applied, shall we?

TMZ has learned ... the cause of death was suicide. Gia’s boyfriend Ryan Anderson found Gia in her house Monday night. We’re told Gia was on life support, which was withdrawn today. She had suffered “critical loss of brain and organ function.”

I had a chance to watch some of the Bachelor shows (my girlfriend is hooked on it), and I remember the show that Gia was in.

She was a very, very, sweet girl, with a big heart and quite pretty too. So sad to hear about her passing!
