if you ‘give up your citizenship’ do you no longer receive social security?

Or is it an added bonus for non-citizens?

the social security question is a good one. I imagine if you renounce you lose it. Could just go expat, still collect it - but they would want taxes and probably haunt you the rest of your life like the Nazis did to their expats.

SS will probably be bankrupt anyway so I would take my chances without it.

Do pirates get social security?

I think if social security is a significant part of your income, you have no need to give up your citizenship.

“if you ‘give up your citizenship’ do you no longer receive social security?”

You would no longer be a US citizen so wouldn’t have any benefits coming to you.

You can still collect SS.
My uncle never had a US passport and he retired back in Poland after working in the US on a green card. His wife went and got a US passport, but he didn’t want one.

He collects Social Security and does not have a US Passport.
