If the 2016 Republican Primary was held today (assuming We the Conservatives don't form a third party out of disgust), who would you like to see as the nominee to face Hitlery Clinton ?
Nice rollup, SS. It really is.
And I stand by the facts - not the soaring rhetoric. I’ve had my fill of soaring rhetoric from the Halfrican in the White hut.
Anyone can use words to sway opinion. But I’m looking at West’s deeds as a sitting Congresscritter, along with those words.
Redistributing wealth, protecting Odinga, and his words all pander to the black vote: “Yo homes, I be down wif da struggle.” And look where all that pandering got him...
Suit yourself, OS.
Remember the original question.
“If the 2016 Republican Primary was held today (assuming We the Conservatives don’t form a third party out of disgust), who would you like to see as the nominee to face Hitlery Clinton ?”
My choices were West, Walker, Perry, in that order.
Any one of those three would be far superior to Clinton and most certainly an exponential improvement over what we have today.
Keep in mind that the question was about a choice of a president, not a Supreme Being.
Who would you choose, OS?
Okay, in keeping on point, let me restate The FReepers Definition of Conservative: Im not sure, but whatever it is, it sure as hell aint YOU!!!
In the eyes of certain FReepers, Reagan was a RINO - he cut and ran from Lebanon, gave amnesty to illegals, and raised taxes. In their eyes, HES JUST NOT GOOD ENOUGH.
In the eyes of certain FReepers, Jesus Christ was a RINO - He befriended and forgave tax collectors, advised people to pay their taxes to the government, and consorted with known prostitutes. In their eyes, HES JUST NOT GOOD ENOUGH.
Which begs the question, why did we end up with Bishop Willard from Planet Kolob as the GOPe nominee? Because in the case of every conservative candidate, the cry went out: YOUR GUYS JUST NOT GOOD ENOUGH.
It doesn’t matter who we put forth as a candidate. The conservative movement has been shattered beyond redemption or repair. We will not see a uniting force on the Right again in our lifetime.
So you make no choice, because it doesn’t matter.
Throw in the towel, time to hunker in the bunker.
Is that about it?
Can you truly point out to me one person who has not only the ability, but the desire, to unite the Right once again?
Such a person would earn my trust and confidence, but there are none - NONE - on the horizon.
I’m not looking for one person to unite the conservative movement, I’ll settle for many.
[why not both
Palin/Cruz
Cruz/Palin]
I would go with Palin/Cruz, just because then there would be the possibility of having 16 years of sanity.
Paul/Palin/Cruz/West/Nugent/Gowdy.
Pick two. Any two. In any order
As I just said on another thread, give me someone to vote FOR for the first time since Reagan.
E Pluribus, nihil.
We go back to 2012; lather, rinse, repeat.
To expect one person to emerge as the leader and uniter of the conservative movement has more the ring of a religious quest as opposed to a political one.
Best to keep things reality based. The grassroots, the T.E.A. party, that sort of thing. Perhaps, even most likely, we will see “leaders” rise from those levels.
Be of good cheer, OS, we’re not done yet.
Exactly: I pray to God it happens.
That would make me very happy!
Indeed. However, I believe we’re in for quite a struggle. May G-d help us.
