Seems like a bad decision by Deen. Dancing With The Stars does a great job of personalizing its contestants, and would likely help rehabilitate her image. My wife watched DWTS and I found myself finding Nancy Grace somewhat likable when she was on the show. Then I returned to my senses.

First, DWTS is just more TV crap broadcast in place of actual programming with a story and characters we can get involved with.
Second, I agree with Ms. Deen. Appearing on a dreck TV show will only cement the perception that she is grasping for anything that will improve her reputation.
Good for her!

I don't mind that she turned it down, however considering the circumstances she probably shouldn't have given the reason as "I'm just too old to be shuckin' and jivin' on national TV like some teenage n***er!"

These shows aren’t the problem. The real problem would be the people who watch them. The only real competition left in this country is the constant struggle to reduce the least common denominator to a number less than zero.
