RIDGEWOOD, N.J. (CBSNewYork) There has been a strange sighting of a strange creature in a suburban New Jersey town and pictures of it have residents asking What the heck is that?
CBS 2s John Slattery was working the day watch out of Manhattan, when his boss gave him this juicy assignment.
He took a vehicle out of Midtown. The sighting happened on Friday. He and his cameraman headed for the leafy community of Ridgewood, which was apparently being terrorized by an odd creature that lurks in and out of storm drains.
Slattery obtained video of the creature from a resident, but, like CBS 2s reporter, was mystified.
I saw a strange animal in the front yard, witness Rob Lyons said.
Lyons had the presence of mind to shoot a picture of the creature on his smartphone.

Maybe it is the mythical, often spoken of but never seen or heard, peaceful Muslim.

It is a cayote with a very sevgere case of mange... sheesh
Doesn’t anyone have any outdoors smarts any more?
Te reason it is out in the daytime is because it is severely sick too, and probably more dangerous
I had one of these stalking my children once- I have nightmares about what would have happened if I had not turned the corner and saw it watching them. When it saw me, it skooted away.

do second and final notices on ones credit card account count? I get one of these calls twice, sometimes three times a week for over a year. If I do not act now, I'll lose out on the zer0 stimulus package. Not kidding, that is what the robo call said.

Red fox with mange.
Perhaps in Ridgewood fox are unusual. Here in Somerset County I see at least 3-5 of them every morning on my way to work.

It looks like a red fox with an advanced case of sarcoptic mange. If it is coming in and out of sewers, there is no telling what else it may have picked up

Call Kolchak, Night stalker, for his opinion.

I found the reporter’s demeanor to be offensive - very smug and mocking. No, it shouldn’t have been a response of horror, but something a bit more even-keeled. It was the typical liberal know-it-all attitude, i.e., there’s nothing in the universe that I can’t explain.
