A U.S. business owner was killed in Thailand after going onstage to sing with a band.
What was supposed to be a fun vacation in Bangkok turned into a nightmare for one family.
Bobby Ray Carter, 51, of Texas, his wife Kelly, and their 18-month-old daughter Sadie, traveled to Thailand to celebrate Mr. Carters birthday. The Carters were meeting up with several other couples including Carter's adult son. The group went out to the Longhorn Saloon bar at the Ao Nang beach in Krabi province in Thailand.

“He was white. White peoples lives mean less than nothing to those racist azzholes”

BS. Have you ever been outside of the USSA?
Imagine
Please re-read the quotes I copied. Put yourself and close family members in the position of travelers to Thailand - who got snuffed out for no good reason.
“Lesson: dont be a drunk jerk.”
Don’t be a drunk jerk in a foreign third world sewer.
This guy didn’t deserve a spike through the heart but you have to respect the locals. These people don’t mess around and they don’t give a shit. I know.
Humility can save your life. Also, have a wingman to check you if you’re gonna get your drink on in such a place.
“Full Kontact Karaoke!”
I take it that he didn’t win, then.
“America sure has its share of ugly Americans here in Japan , too , and they spoil things for those of us who are not ugly , e.g. not being allowed to enter various clubs and forbidden for using various services .”
There is no reason that I can see to advance the myth of the “Ugly American.” Germans, Taiwanese, ChiComs and Koreans are far more loud and abrasive than Americans these days.
“Americans have always been viewed as arrogant.”
That’s only true if the question is “Who do Californians dislike most?”
I’ve spent collectively about seven years outside the U.S. and I’ve never sensed any animosity aimed at me, perhaps you’re projecting.
They begged Pa not to sing “Achy Breaky Heart”...
I know what yo mean. At Disney, the Brazilians are some of the worst jerks in big groups. If we see a bunch of them, my wife insists on going to another ride.
” There is no reason that I can see to advance the myth of the Ugly American. Germans, Taiwanese, ChiComs and Koreans are far more loud and abrasive than Americans these days.”
How many Americans have you seen in foreign countries ?
Zimmerman is hiding out in Thailand and he joined a Band?
lol
Arrested but not convicted, and certainly not sentenced.
The musician’s families live in the area. Probably need the musicians’ income. What a pointless tragedy for innocent relatives of the musicians to lose their livelihood because some rich guy from the other end of the earth came into your little town, acted like a jerk, and forced the musicians to lose their temper.
The dead guy’s family is going to go home, and the dead guy and his family will be just a bad dream. Only a thoughtless heartless uncaring system would punish the innocents who rely on these musicians’ income for nothing more than a bad dream. Out of mercy for these innocent victims, the musicians will be allowed to go back to work.
Long story short, musicians mumble some apologies, pay a fine which gets pocketed by the cops, maybe offer to compensate the dead guy’s family, maybe stay in jail until the King’s Birthday, then everyone goes back to doing what they did before.
That, folks, is the Thai way of thinking, and that’s how it’s going to play out.
BTW, Thais generally will avoid confrontation, absorbing a lot of insults before they react — and then they overreact. You have to PUSH, and PUSH, and PUSH some more, until SNAP, the Thai does something everyone wishes he didn’t. I wonder if this guy went out of his way to learn some special Thai-language insults which he dropped into conversation at key points.
There are a few places in GA where same might happen.
True dat. Someone got murdered there once and there was no followup investigation.
Agreed. If I had to pick one music artist as my favorite it would be JL, but he was quite flawed as a human being.
Yup, I have. What we have here is a failure to communicate. /joke Seriously, my fault. I failed to copy the part of the comment I was referring to, namely this:
Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, President Obama, and MSNBC haven't been heard commenting on this murder yet.
See, I was not referring to the Thai people. I was referring to "Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, President Obama, and MSNBC," to whom white people's lives mean squat...
Sorry about the lack of clarity.
“How many Americans have you seen in foreign countries ?”
Probably 20,000. I was in the military years back and have since traveled to a lot of countries, about 50 so far, incl. Europe, Asia, South America, Canada, some islands and some other places.
Et tu?
